88% is a B, or 3.00 on the 4.0 scale
Method: College Board BigFuture percentage bands. Each percentage is rounded to the nearest whole number (.5 rounds up) and then matched to a band. Your school may use different cutoffs, plus and minus grades, or weighting.
College Board table

|---|---|---|
| 90-100 | A | 4.0 |
| 80-89 | B | 3.0 |

| 66-69 | D | 1.0 |
| Below 65 | F | 0.0 |
Grades you enter stay in this browser and are not uploaded or saved. Results are estimates: there is no single official conversion, and the school or credential evaluator reading your grades decides how they are converted. Check with them before you rely on a number.
What this page does
It matches a percentage to the letter and 4.0 value in the College Board BigFuture table, shows the full table, and highlights the row that applies. To average several courses, tick the box and enter credits for each; the average is weighted by credits.
When your school uses plus and minus grades
The College Board table has no plus or minus bands, and this page does not invent cutoffs for them. If your school grades with A-, B+ and similar letters, use the letter option on the home page or the weighted calculator, and use your school's own percentage cutoffs.
